- Which of our old ideas, beliefs or opinions are worth retaining?
Some of us have tried to hold on to our old ideas and the result was nil
- What must we do with our old ideas?
until we let go absolutely
Very often, newcomers, fresh out of treatment, bring with them ideas that are in conflict with AA’s Program of Recovery. It cannot be helped. It just happens
Clinicians are quite skilled at putting new spins on the old ideas - that obsessions with substances like drugs or alcohol can be managed with the right recipe of knowledge and other entrancing mental tricks of the trade.
And so alumni of treatment facilities experiencing a passing spree of placebo-abstinence bring rehab handouts, far-out spiritual books, slogans and recovery philosophies that only confuse and prevent the 12 Step method from taking hold.
- What should we remember?
Remember that we deal with alcohol-cunning, baffling, powerful!

Without help it is too much for us.
- Who has all the Power?
But there is One who has all power-that One is God.
- When should we try to find Him?
May you find Him now!
That sounds like we are going to be getting some POWER into our lives, doesn't it? How to find God? They extend this hope and they're going to tell us how they did it too.
