Step We Are On: Four
Page: 68
Chapter: 5 "How It Works"
Subject: Resentment Inventory, Fear, Self reliance, Trust, Sex
Happy
New Happy New Year and good morning. We are going through the columns of the
4th step directions. We are looking at sex and learning how sex problems…….are
problematic; in that they can be as much a part of self-centered behaviors and
cause harms to others as other human activities.
- What are we looking for?
Where had we been selfish, dishonest, or inconsiderate?
- Of whom do we make a list?
Whom had we hurt?
- Do we add those to our list who have been hurt by some more subtle actions on our part?
Did we unjustifiably arouse jealousy, suspicion or bitterness?
- Whose wrong do we examine?
Where were we at fault,
- What do we ask ourselves?
what should we have done instead?

- Do we put all this on paper just as we did the manifestations of our other personality defects?
We got this all down on paper and looked at it.
AND THIS is what the six column review looks
like.
(Please do not use a “resentment” list format for a sex overhaul/review.)
Fear Review Columns:
- Who?
(Names)
- Did I Hurt Them?
(Y/N)Any unjustifiable, jealousy, suspicion, bitterness aroused?
(Y/N)
- Was It Selfish or not selfish?
(Write in “selfish” or “not”)
- Was I selfish, Inconsiderate or dishonest? *My Fault*
(Write it in)
- What should I have done instead?
(Write in the ‘alternative ending” that should have been to each incident)
This is the format
for a sex inventory as delineated in the Big Book. If you are doing it any other way, then you are following alternative methods, not in the Big Book. I hope everyone finds it
helpful.
Peace and Love,
