Chapter: 6 “Into Action”

Subject: Amends, Criminal Offenses

Read Time: Under a minute

Good morning. Welcome back. We are still on page 78. The co-authors are now addressing making amends for criminal offenses.

Page 78 - continued

  • Have some of us committed criminal offenses?

Perhaps we have committed a criminal offense which might land us in jail if it were known to the authorities.

  • Have some of us “borrowed” money from our employers?

We may be short in our accounts and unable to make good.

"Broke" "drunk" and "owing" are three words frequently found together in recovery circles.

  • Has this already been we revealed to our sponsor?

We have already admitted this in confidence to another person,

  • Yet, we are fearful of what?

but we are sure we would be imprisoned or lose our job if it were known.

  • Have some of us cheated on our expense accounts?

Maybe it's only a petty offense such as padding the expense account.

  • Do only a few of us do that sort of thing?

Most of us have done that sort of thing.
Now is a good time to look at that definition of fear again:

Fear
– an emotion characterized by dread or expectation of harm; anxiety.  2. Desire to escape, avoid displeasure. ~ The Winston Simplified Dictionary Encyclopedic Edition (1938)
