Step we are on: Step Two
Chapter: "We Agnostics"
Subject: Belief, Willingness, Worship, Alcoholic vs Non-Alcoholic
Good morning, We are on Step Two. Today and tomorrow, we are going to learn something vital about this section of the Big Book from the co-authors themselves
Ask this question. Is “Alcoholism is probably my problem and God maybe the answer” sound like enough conviction for a newcomer going forward?
Is probable cause ever enough?
Let’s see.

- What have we learned in our study of “The Doctor’s Opinion”, “Bill’s Story”, “There Is A Solution” and “More About Alcoholism?”
In the preceding chapters you have learned something of alcoholism.
- What do we want to make clear?
We hope we have made clear the distinction between the alcoholic and the nonalcoholic.
- How do you know if your life is unmanageable?
If, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely,
- How do you know if you are powerless over alcohol?
or if when drinking, you have little control over the amount you take,
Comment: Does this appear to be Step One in reverse order?

- If you cannot quit entirely and have little control over the amount you drink, what might you be?
you are probably alcoholic.
Probably? Does the statement "I am probably alcoholic" seem like enough of a conviction to go forward here? Doesn't it sound like there might be some doubt still. Do we afford protegees wiggle-room when showing them how to qualify themselves?
Think about it. We will be addressing this deadly uncertainty issue tomorrow. It is vital. Please join us.
Peace and Love,
