The Plight of The Self Propelled

Page: 60

Step we are on: Three

Chapter: 5 - "How It Works"

Subject: Playing God, resentment, self-pity, self-centeredness

Good morning. The co-authors are comparing people (Not only alcoholics, but most people, all of whom are self-propelled) with an “actor” in the show, trying to run it all himself.

  • How would everybody feel and how would life be? Two sentences
Everybody, including himself, would be pleased. Life would be wonderful.

  • In writing the script for all the players, is the actor sometimes noble?
In trying to make these arrangements our actor may sometimes be quite virtuous.

  • He might even be what?
He may be kind, considerate, patient, generous; even modest and self-sacrificing.

  • But then he may be what?
  • On the other hand, he may be mean, egotistical, selfish and dishonest.

  • If he is like most people, how will he be?
But, as with most humans, he is more likely to have varied traits.
