Inflow of Power Means Losing Fear

Step we are on: Three

Chapter: 5 "How It Works"

Subject: Playing God, Fear

Good morning. If you will recall, back on page 52 the co-authors spoke about the "bedeviling" characteristics that attend being an un-recovered alcoholic. Now we are seeing how these begin to get chipped away; now fear. What a blessing.
  • What is He?
Being all powerful,

  • What does our new Boss provide?
He provided what we needed,

  • Does He do this no matter what?
if we kept close to Him and performed His work well.

Comment:  That means to follow the directions He provided us through the First Hundred.

  • Established on this footing, what is promised?  Two sentences
Established on such a footing we became less and less interested in ourselves, our little plans and designs. More and more we became interested in seeing what we could contribute to life.

  • As we feel the new Power flow in, what else is promised?
As we felt new power flow in, as we enjoyed peace of mind, as we discovered we could face life successfully, as we became conscious of His presence, we began to lose our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter.

Remember what Bill saw in Ebby?

Bill saw that of himself he had no Power originating within him whatsoever, that he was empty - and that from some source, not arising out of Ebby, yet from somewhere, Power had entered his friend.

He wanted that power to enter him too.

This feeling of emptiness, that each real alcoholic knows too well, changes. Once we awaken to God consciousness we become filled with power. (See page 11 for the full account)

The way to lose fear is to find God consciousness. It provides an inflow of power resulting in peace of mind.
  • Did they change as human beings ?

We were reborn.

Spiritual awakening is a rebirth.

TOMORROW:

  • Is it now time to make a decision to really try the Program by taking the Steps?
  • I give myself to Whom?
  • For what purpose?
  • What do I want relief from?
  • Why would I want to be free of my selfishness?

Peace and  Love,
Danny S – RLRA
Real Live Recovered Alcoholic
