Good morning. Welcome once again. We are still looking at Fred  the accountant's little DC adventure.

Remember . . .  Fred (real name Harry Brick) has been LOADED to the gills with information about alcoholism - he knows all about the physical craving. He knows all about the mental obsession. He KNOWS IT ALL!And he loves and appreciates the information that has been passed on to him.  He is well studied!  He's been to the BEST Big Book Study in the world . . .  conducted by the original cast of founding characters executing the foundation of the book itself before it was even written.

Fred is in on the ground floor of potent, unadulterated AA, Twelve Step work conducted by the best!

Let's see where that gets him.

  • What kind of a day had it been?
It was the end of a perfect day, not a cloud on the horizon.

The alcoholic mind will seduce us into start drinking even when everything is going super good. This very well supports what we learned in The Doctor's Opinion that, “It did not satisfy us to be told that we could not control our drinking just because we were maladjusted to life, that we were in full flight from reality, or were outright mental defectives.”

Even well-off, socially well-positioned persons are subject to this malady.

  • What did he do after he completed his business for the day?

"I went to my hotel and leisurely dressed for dinner.

  • As he went into the dining room, what insane thought did he have?  Three sentences

"It was the end of a perfect day . . . . "
As I crossed the threshold of the dining room, the thought came to mind that it would be nice to have a couple of cocktails with dinner.

That was all. Nothing more.

  • How did he act on that insane thought?

I ordered a cocktail and my meal.

(Note:  That’s ONE!)

  • What did he do then?

Then I ordered another cocktail.
(Note:   That’s TWO!!)

TOMORROW:
  • He had dinner and then what?
  • After he returned to the hotel, what did he do?
  • He remembered what after the third drink?
  • He then had a shadowy recollection of what?
  • Who did he hook up with at the landing field?
  • What did they do and for how long?

Peace & Love,
